This Monday's games saw another double win for Athletico and Unreal, with Unreal maintaining their winning run to an unprecedented 6 wins in a row! A sudden goal rush from Sharlene resulted in this season's first double hat-trick in an impressive performance over Curzon Youth. This win propelled Unreal up to 3rd in the table with some slim but well earned victories. After five weeks of stellar rear guard action, Unreal fianlly conceded their first goal since January, which is an impressive record.
Athletico have regained form again after the defeat at the start of February, notching up three wins and a draw since then. Consistent defending and increased confidence from midfielders has seen the goals been shared amongst several players over the last few games. A bit like Arsenal really.
All in all, good results all round, as both teams reach season highs of 3rd and 4th place with 3 games to go before the end of the season.
No break before the new season though, as a result of having to catch up on fixtures postponed due to the snow. So we get started again on the 29th of March
